This live edge walnut slab, paired with modern black powder coated steel legs, brings warmth and character to our client’s home office.
To bring out the full beauty of this piece’s highly figured crotch grain, we went old-school and took the time to hand plane the entire slab. While visiting our workshop, the clients’ daughter also got involved in the build, taking her turn at making some plane shavings and finalizing a few design elements,
For added strength, as well as a classic decorative touch, the piece has been inlayed with five bowties (three on top, two on the bottom) made of contrasting maple.
The desk measures 7 feet long x 2.5 feet wide x 2 1/4 inch thick.
Live edge desks are available in ash, maple and walnut wood. We do source additional species from time to time.
